Toji Motion Beginner Guide: Your First Edit, Start to Finish
A complete first edit in Toji Motion: canvas, layers, two keyframes, one effect, one preset, one export. The shortest honest path from install to finished clip.

Start With a Small Canvas and One Clip
Open Toji Motion and create a project at the format your feed expects, vertical for most short feeds. Import one short clip you like, under fifteen seconds. A first project is a lesson, not a portfolio piece, and everything on the Toji Motion free video editor page, layers, keyframes, effects and export, fits inside this one small edit.
Trim the clip to its best five seconds. Editing begins with selection, and a tight source makes every later step easier to judge.
Add Layers in a Sensible Order
Put the clip at the bottom. Add a text layer above it with your title, then an audio layer with the music the edit will follow. This stack, picture, words, sound, is the skeleton of nearly every edit the app makes, and learning to read it top to bottom is the beginner skill everything else builds on. The detail behind each layer type is in the text animation guide and the features section of the home page.
Name your layers as you go. Future you, returning to this project in a week, is a stranger who deserves labels.
Your First Motion and One Effect
Select the text layer, set a keyframe where it starts small and transparent, move forward a second, and set a second keyframe at full size and full opacity. Play it: your title breathes in. That pair of keyframes is the whole secret, and the keyframes guide takes it further. Now add one effect, a soft glow, to the clip, and keyframe its strength so it peaks on the strongest beat.
Save the text animation as a preset before you close the project. Your first reusable tool should exist from day one.
Export and Judge Honestly
Export the project at its own resolution using the export settings guide, then watch the file outside the app, at arm's length, with the sound on. Note the two weakest moments and fix only those. A beginner who finishes small edits weekly learns faster than one who polishes a single long edit for a month. The app is on the download page when you need to reinstall or update.
Quick Answers
How long should my first Toji Motion project be?
About five seconds of finished edit. Small projects teach the full loop, canvas to export, in one sitting.
What should I learn first?
Layers and keyframes. Every advanced technique in the app is those two ideas with better timing.
Do I need a powerful phone to start?
No. Small projects with few layers run on modest phones. Power matters as projects grow, not at the first edit.
